Mrs. Kelly Walker, Principal
 Dr. Diana Hipps, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Dionna Evans, Assistant Principal

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction to you as your new Principal for the 2021-2022 school year at Flint Hill Elementary School. Let me be the first to share with you how excited all of us are to begin a new school year! The last year has been quite challenging and I know you all join me in hoping for a much more “normal” school year. I believe your children are in excellent hands and we are so fortunate to have such a strong, dedicated staff and school community.

To introduce myself, my name is Kelly Walker; I have 25 years of experience in education in the Newton County School System. I worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist for my first 15 years in Newton County. However, my history with Flint Hill Elementary is extensive, as I have been fortunate to be both a Speech-Language Pathologist and an Assistant Principal for the past 10 years. In addition, I have four children that all attended Flint Hill. Flint Hill Elementary is family to me!

Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the success we have experienced by building strong relationships with students, parents, and community partners. My goal is to ensure that every student has equal opportunities and access to every learning opportunity and to strive for academic excellence. I also wanted to say thank you for your support and cooperation in helping make our school such a successful, collaborative place where our children are always the number one priority!

Over the next few months, I will be reaching out to parents about joining our new PTA (Parent Teacher Association). We will need new leadership on the PTA and we will need many volunteers! Studies show that parental involvement in a child’s education is one of the most important factors in raising students’ self-esteem and academic achievement. We can accomplish amazing things when we work together!

Thank you all for your support of our school! I cannot wait to get started and see what we can all achieve together! Together, our Assistant Principals, Dr. Hipps and Mrs. Evans, and I will all be available to help you in any way we can. We are all committed to making the start of the school year the best yet!

Kelly Walker, Principal
